Why AP Test Tutoring is Important

AP tests are important regardless of where you want to attend. At less-selective colleges, passing AP tests can result in your being granted college credit and skipping introductory classes, potentially allowing you to graduate earlier and save on tuition costs. AP classes and tests also help by preparing you for your college experience because they mirror the level of work and test preparation that you will later need to be able to do.

While many highly selective colleges do not grant college credit for passing AP tests, they are still vital. College admissions committees want to see that you have taken and scored well on AP exams because it shows them that you will be able to handle the rigors of your college classes if you are admitted. If you are eligible for and elect advanced standing at Harvard, you may even be granted credit for your AP exams through its accelerated undergraduate program. If you are able to obtain the top scores on your AP tests, your application will be stronger. In addition, your depth of knowledge in these areas will help you to obtain better scores on your SAT or ACT, which are also highly important in your college admissions decisions.

by Robert J. Parsons, Ph.D. on Going Ivy

I want to honor Dr. P, My teacher for the AP Language and the AP Literature.

Dr. Parsons has taught both subjects for over 25 years. He won a Phi Beta Kappa Award and, as a Fulbright Exchange teacher, instructed English students at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College, and has even graded AP Literature Exams for seven years.

To me Dr. P is a kind, brilliant and warm soul who loves to teach. He is dedicated to his students. He got his Ph.D. from Duke. He taught me by Skype both when I was in China and when I went to an American private school. His system for learning is fun yet challenging. His e-mail address is [email protected] and his phone number is 561-284-6810. He is Dr. Robert J. Parsons.

pnone number is 561-284-6810. Please contact him.
